Math and Science Club at MECIT is organising a Maths and Science Gathering, 'THE UNIVERSE' at MECIT on 16th and 17th of April at MECIT Sports Hall. The Event many attractions including an Exhibition on Maths ,Science and Astronomy. The event will also host a lecture titled “Mathematics Ghost in MECIT” by Maths & Science Club from SQU.

MECIT is organising an Inter-college Web Designing competetion(Webdeco). Students from Universities and Colleges across Oman are invited to participate in the contest.

The competition has been inspired with the purpose of bringing together ideas of the youth, for the betterment of our society. Through the mandatory page "My message to Oman", students from various colleges would be expressing their views and ideas, which may be be published through some media in order to spread the messages among the populace of Sultanate.

Interested students are requested to send in their entries to in zip format to webdeco2010@mecit.edu.om by Dec 1st ,2010. Contest result will be published on December 7th, 2010.

MECIT organises Health Awareness Gathering

MECIT is organising its first ever Health Awareness Gathering on Nov 1, 2010 and Nov 2, 2010 at MECIT Auditorium. Representatives from 17 Government units and specialised associations will be participating in the event. Topics of discussion includes Smoking, Blood donation, Drugs, Blood diseases, blinds, Disabilities, Cancer, Psychological and Mental challenges, AIDS, Hygiene etc.

MECIT will also be the first institution in the Sultanate to host the “Road Awareness Bus” from Royal Oman Police.

Health activities club in coordination with Student activities unit at MECIT is organising a Dental Camp' on Monday, Oct 25 2010. The camp will commence from 9 am at Sports hall in Facilities block. Consultation will be free of cost. In addition you will also get advice on further treatment. All further Dental procedures / investigations advised will be entitled for a special 15 % discount.

Seminar on Stress Management

Health activities club in coordination with Student activities unit at MECIT is organising a seminar on 'Stress Management' on Monday, Oct 25 2010. The seminar will start at 12:30 pm at MECIT auditorium.

Online search facility for the wide variety of library resources, either print or electronic has now been operational with the installation of 5 search kiosks on the either floors of the library. This service can be accessed by logging into the CIS and going to library section. Library staffs are always there to help incase of any difficulty.

Mr. Khalid Al Siyabi, Board of Trustee of MECIT and the first ever Omani to have scaled the Mt. Everest has consented to be the Chief guest for this special event.

MECIT family would like to congratulate our Board of Trustee member Mr. Khalid bin Sulaiman Al Siyabi. He became the first Omani to scale Mount Everest which stands 8,848 meters above sea level on 23rd May 2010, 10:15 AM Omani time. Click here to read more
