Programme Summary
The Business Information Technology programme places emphasis the analysis of business processes, the development and selection of appropriate computing solutions, project management and human aspects of information systems development. The subject areas included in the curriculum will equip the students with an in-depth knowledge of the use of information systems and analytical methods to support the analysis and design of policy and practice in business. It will also provide the opportunity for students to develop skills in systems analysis and design, the development and management of database systems, and the use of programming languages. It is recognised that in today’s field of business information technology, skills are transitory. Hence, the programme seeks to ensure that a balance is struck between learning current techniques and emphasising the underlying fundamentals and theories which will provide a sound basis for understanding and evaluating new approaches, techniques and technologies.
