This is an important point in the history of MECIT as it moves from a predominantly teaching institution into becoming a HEI that gives importance to research as well as teaching. As a responsible HEI that is committed to enhancing student experience, MECIT believes that it is essential to ensure that research culture becomes pervasive, sustainable and inclusive for the institution to be continually improving. With this aim, the establishment of the PG Studies and Research Department became extremely crucial. The department is in its nascent stages with less than even one year of existence.

Currently it runs two programmes, MBA-IT and MSc IT and aims to establish research as a pervasive activity in MECIT.
