Department Achievements

For the first time in the Sultanate of Oman, an inter-collegiate Mathematics Competition was held in 2006.
Task-based exercises are given to students in Foundation II which enable them to apply mathematical concepts to real-life situations and present the results
Research papers have been presented in international conferences in Brunei, UAE, Jordan, and USA and published in international journals
Two members of the Faculty have successfully completed their Masters program in Statistics – one in the University of West England, U.K. and the other in University of Wollongong (UOW), NSW, Australia
The department has been offering its services in the statistical analysis of data for the different units of the College
In-house workshops in SPSS have been conducted by the Faculty of the Department
In-house seminars on Omanisation and Tablet PC were presented
Lecture notes for two modules were prepared in e-book format
State-of-the-art Technology in Teaching like Classroom Presenter with Tablet PC and Simulation Software are being used for some of the modules
