The department of Design Technology emphasises an integrated curriculum that includes the promotion of aesthetic awareness, acquisition of technical skills, understanding of historical and contemporary influences and the significance of design in production. The department helps students to gain a solid foundation in the fundamentals of design through conventional methods of learning and through special events such as exhibitions that offer opportunities for the expression of their creativity.

Every programme has a general set of modules to be taken as departmental requirement, another set of modules that are specialisation centric and finally a set of modules as college requirements and electives. To promote self-study, research and inquiry students are required to do Projects at specific points during their programmes of study.
