Computing department is one of the largest Computing departments in Oman and currently offering different programmes in the various areas of IT. The department was set up in November 2002.

The objective of the department is to produce qualified specialists who can find employment in the region.
The department at the onset offered only 3 programmes of study but now the department boasts of 10 excellent undergraduate degrees in multiple Computer specialisations. Every programme has combination of modules to be studied which are college requirements, department requirements, specialization, and electives. At the end the students will practice a self study and research to enhance his knowledge they acquired during their studies   through a graduation project.

Beginning with just 4 teaching staff, the department now has more than 30 highly qualified members. It is the quality of the faculty which signifies the department as they possess the required qualifications, teaching experience, depth and breadth of knowledge in their specialisation.

The department encourages student’s contribution in extra-curricular and community activities through the establishment of clubs such as .NET club and Computing club.
