The future goals of the department is twofold, one to be the pioneer institution in offering high quality business programs and second to be a research active department which constantly produces high quality research output  on various industrial and social related issues, which aims to provide real time solutions to the industry and society.

To realise its first goal the department plans to do the following.

• To create a panel of visiting academics from various reputed universities.
• To create a panel of Industry leaders from Oman who would deliver seminars and guest lectures on various business topic.
• Benchmarking against programs, delivery method of various successful universities.
• Adopt the best practices both in terms of technology and content in teaching.
• Constant monitoring and evaluation of teaching practices.

To realise its second goal, department is planning to

• Recruit experienced staff that are research active and could substantially contribute to research activities of the department.
• Host a research seminar once in two years inviting participants both nationally and internationally.
• Publish a journal which would give opportunity for Academicians especially in GCC to publish their work.
