MECIT equips its students with essential skills to give them an edge in their respective jobs. Students are moulded with professional and technical capabilities along with time management skills, interview handling skills and communication skills etc.

Placement and Industry Relations Unit (PIRU) at MECIT provides placement services to students for job openings in companies across Oman. The cell organises regular programmes such as careers fairs and various other activities that provide opportunities for recruiters and employers to meet with students and interact with them. Additionally students are also empowered through these events to understand the employers and job market requirements to further develop their skill sets to match industry requirements prior to their graduation.

MECIT has consistently been working on strong relationships with a diverse range of employers who are looking for well rounded graduates. As a result MECIT has set up an apex advisory forum known as ‘Advisory Forum for Industry Relations of MECIT (AFIRM)’, which firmly places industry academia interaction on top of its academic agenda. The forum meets twice a year to guide the college’s Industry Relations policies, and programme design.

As a result of this MECIT has been able to leverage its academic programmes, teaching methodologies, infrastructure and students to embody the needs of the industry. Therefore, MECIT, proudly states that its students have flourished in their jobs. This has been evident based on the feedback that industry has provided recommending that MECIT graduates are capable of quality job skills, strong academic knowledge and a capability to execute work with the least amount of intervention. In addition to the foresaid Industry commends MECIT for developing humble, polite and approachable graduates which is considered an asset by industry.

MECIT, also provides tools to students for placement such as the ePlacement portal where in students can register their CV’s enabling employers who are registered with MECIT to view the data base and helps them in recruitment. In addition to this employers also can notify the placement cell of graduate vacancies.
